After being together for seven years, their marriage ultimately fell apart. The former couple filed for divorce in 2004 following a mutual agreement. During an interview, Ray revealed that he tried to get into a relationship after the breakup, but it didn't feel as equal as he would have wanted.

"Probably someone who is not as career-orientated, who is more about the relationship," he told the publication noting that Karsen Liotta's mother was too focused on her career. "She was producing, yeah. She's a great woman, and thank God we're still friends, he said.
